2024 GenCyber Camp

The Bismarck State College GenCyber Cybersecurity Academy is a 5-day camp for students entering grades 6-8. The academy is funded through a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA) and National Science Foundation (NSF), making it FREE of charge for 100 participants.
 
Experienced high school and college faculty will lead students through lessons and interactive cybersecurity activities. The program will focus on cybersecurity concepts and cover a number of topics including:
• Cybersecurity introduction and online safety
• Digital citizenship
• Hardware, operating systems, and programming
• Computer careers and concepts review

Lunch and snacks included with camp registration.

Notice

Please read:  Please Note: Registrants will be asked via email to confirm their attendance on June 24th. Failure to respond to this request will result in the loss of camp registration. If your child is no longer able to attend camp, please notify our office as soon as possible at 701-224-5600 or bsc.training@bismarckstate.edu. Updated camp details will be sent via email the week prior to camp to those who confirm their registration.

Returning students may repeat some of the camp lessons from previous camps.

Students will be moving around and walking to multiple locations on campus. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing.

Participant travel assistance is available for a limited number of participants. Vouchers for Bis-Man Transit will cover 1 round trip per student per day and 2 round trips per parent/guardian per day to accommodate for drop off and pick up of their student. Please indicate if you will need this travel assistance during registration.
