Communication within and about the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is vital to education of the public and support of the funding stakeholders. This course offers tools and techniques in order to become better communicators in the fields of STEM. The course will draw upon improvisation training, theater, and storytelling techniques in order for participants to build empathy and improve the way we relate and talk to others.The course topics to be covered, but not limited to: Relating with one another to build on a conversation: Avoiding dead-end communication; Storytelling - sharing your story with others: Why is my field/idea important? How did I get here?; Knowing your audience: Your presentation will be different with various audiences. Help your audience understand what you are trying to communicate.
