ID : 28447
« back to classes page
“Indian education” began in Anglo colonial times as a means to transform the New World’s natives into English-speaking Christian European-style farmers. Today “Indian education” is about preserving native languages and cultures while providing natives with multi-cultural economic skills. This class will explore Indian education’s path from its role in cultural genocide to today’s role in sovereign nation self-determination.
