In this one-day pre-conference session, attendees will learn the fundamentals of dynamic balancing for rotating equipment in both shop and field settings. Topics include rotor types, unbalance characteristics, troubleshooting conditions, and balancing methods—single vs. multi-plane.
Participants will explore static, couple, and dynamic unbalance, basic procedures, best practices, and tips from an instructor with 20+ years of experience. The course covers determining requirements by rotor configuration, calculating balance quality per ISO 21940-11/12, and interpreting reports. Designed for mechanics, operators, planners, and engineers, this entry-level course requires no prior experience with rotating equipment or vibration analysis.
