What was it like to live in WWII Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the world's first atomic bomb was built? What considerations went into using the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki exactly 80 years ago? Based on research for her historical novel, Galina Vromen will explore this pivotal moment in history and discuss its impact on the state of nuclear proliferation today.      

This class will be held virtually using Zoom. Participants can join from a computer or device with internet capability. This Zoom session will be streamed in Room 101 of the National Energy Center on the BSC campus for those who do not have internet capability and want to attend the class.
