US Bridge Failures

ID : 31930
« back to classes page
Bridges have been around for thousands of years, whether for walking, railroads or highways. For the most part, one doesn’t give bridges a second thought. They have been there and will continue to be there, serving their purpose.  From time to time something happens and a bridge failure is in the spotlight. In this class, we will discuss some failures in the United States, some notable, others less notable. We will review the bridge design, what caused the failure and what was learned for the future.
