In this lecture, Ann will do a short review of the history of the Pacific Theater of World War II. Then, with great pride, she will introduce you to the North Dakota National Guard 164th Infantry, the unit with which my father, Harry R. Vadnie, served. Maps, general photos, and personal family photos will be used to show how this brave unit played a very vital role in the Pacific Theater, specifically at Guadalcanal.
