This series of courses will take you from having zero experience and knowledge of web design to more advanced techniques. You don't need any website publishing experience to get started. And, you’ll walk away with your very own website and have the ability to manage it.

Creating Wordpress Websites

In these lessons, you'll get hands-on experience with this powerful tool as you create your own WordPress.com site and blog. As you walk through the process from start to finish, you'll find out how to use WordPress to create pages and posts, add images and videos, change a site's look and feel, and include user-friendly features.

In addition to mastering the technical elements of WordPress, you'll learn how to organize a blog or website, create appealing content, and achieve better positions on search engine results pages. By the end of this course, you'll be able to confidently use WordPress to create a blog or a personal, business, or organizational website.

Intermediate Wordpress Websites

In this intermediate course, you will discover how to build content management websites and blogs with WordPress, which lets you control your site without code! Your online visitors will be able to comment on your articles, fill out forms and applications, buy your products, and even make appointments.

You'll master each step, from selecting a domain name and a hosting company to installing WordPress and creating pages. You'll discover how to add images and multimedia, create a user-friendly navigation system, and take advantage of the dynamic add-on feature known as plugins. You'll explore how to turn your website into an ecommerce powerhouse and improve search engine page results. And you'll also learn some HTML and CSS coding to customize your site's look and feel.

To take this series, you should be willing to open a hosting account, which costs approximately $120 a year.

Please read:  BSC has partnered with Ed2Go, one of the industry leaders in online learning for adults, to provide this online class. Most Ed2Go classes start either the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month. All registrations after the class start date will be enrolled in the next month’s class session.

These six-week online instructor-led courses are the perfect way to learn a new skill or enhance your existing ones. You'll spend roughly two to four hours each week completing two engaging lessons in an enjoyable, interactive learning environment. Expert instructors develop and lead every course, and you'll be able to interact with them and with fellow students in online discussion areas. Upon completing a course with a passing score, you'll get an award of completion.
